Hi. My name is Milan and I’m addicted to brackets.
This is my favorite time of year. March Madness. Everybody and their brother is filling out a bracket (or two or five) this week. Trying to figure out which 12 seed will beat a 5 seed or how many double digit seeds will make it to the Sweet Sixteen, etc. Now people who hardly watched any college basketball the past 4 1/2 months suddenly become “experts” and tell you their Final Four picks are a sure thing. Yeah, good luck with that.
Well, for those schools who got snubbed out of the NCAA Tournament (I’m talking to you SMU) or those schools who, going by the football postseason model, wouldn’t even be bowl eligible (yeah, YOU Penn State and Siena), their fans can fill out brackets too! The NIT and CBI have brackets for their participants, I presume, to have more than (really) close family members and degenerate gamblers follow their quest to be Number 69! Or Number 100!
By the way, I would be remiss If I didn’t give credit to the collegeinsider.com Tournament. It knows its role on the postseason food chain and doesn’t even bother trying to put together a bracket for their matchups. Coin flips? Rock Paper Scissors? Thumb wrestling? So if you want to know the CIT schedule, Godspeed, my friend. For the rest of us who are merely spectators this postseason or play basketball for Indiana, here are your Brackets O’ Plenty!
