Columbus Police Statement on Carlos Hyde Case

The Columbus Police have released a statement on the assault case involving Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde.

No Charges in Assault Case

The Columbus Division of Police has officially closed the investigation into an alleged assault case which received a large number of media inquiries.

On July 20, 2013, Columbus Police officers were approached by a female who stated she was assaulted inside of 303 S. Front Street.  Officers took a report and listed a person of interest.  The report was forwarded to the Division’s Strategic Response Bureau and was assigned to a zone investigator.

Investigators met with the victim who informed them that she does not want to pursue charges against the person who was identified as the person of interest.
